Honolulu Twestival 2011

So I just discovered that an event called the Twestival is about to go down this Thursday, March 24th. This is the first time I've heard of such a thing & completely ingenius if I might add.

If you haven't put one & one together it's a "Twitter Festival." In their words a Twestival "uses social media for social good by connecting communities offline on a single day to highlight a great cause and have fun."

One hundred percent of all ticket sales from this event will go directly to a local charity.
The cause in this instance is the Blood Bank of Hawaii.

Jason Tom performs @ the Cultural Plaza

As if that wasn't reason enough to check it out, my good friend, Jason Tom, beatbox/vocal extraordinaire & all around hyperactive, super nice guy is headlining the event. I've seen kids look up in awe as his audiences try their best to unsuccessfully imitate him. I've also seen their parents scratch their heads trying to figure out where the sound is coming from when Jason's onstage.

Kamuela Kahoano @ Easy Music Center

Also performing this Thursday will be another close friend & ridiculously talented musician, Kamuela Kahoano. If you haven't seen him go nuts on a stage yet, now is your chance before he skyrockets off to international stardom. His songs will make you hold on tight to a loved one, laugh your head off or just straight up inspire you to grab the closest thing that makes noise & try to write a song with it. The dude is passion incarnate & if he's a part of any kind of event it's gonna be one heck of a ride.

Also performing are Willow Chang & Emi Hart. If they came Jason Tom recommended
then they're sure to be just as musically insane.

It's $20 presale, $25 at the door. Remember It's for the Blood Bank of Hawaii and Hawaii Red Cross (Japan relief efforts). So you got no excuse.

Show starts at 5pm at The Venue in Bethel St.
